Every answer is a palindrome: it reads the same forwards and backwards. When you place a letter in a blank, the matching position on the other side of the word fills in automatically (shown in teal). You only ever solve half the word; the mirror does the rest.
Levels are bundled into stages of five. Failing an unsolved level (losing all three hearts, or running out of time on levels 101+) restarts the stage, but always with fresh words you haven't seen. Words you've already solved are never dealt again.
One reveal is available per level on longer puzzles. Using it caps that solve at two stars, so a three-star solve always means no help was used.
Your time bank starts at 1:00. Solve a timed level within 30 seconds and the bank grows by 10 seconds for all future levels, up to a maximum of 5:00, where it stays for the rest of the journey.
Progress is stored locally on your device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Deleting the app deletes your progress. (iCloud device backups include app data, so restoring a full backup restores your journey.)
